J&K Governor's address disappointing: CPI(M)

CPI(M) on Wednesday alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra's address to the Assembly was "clueless on vital issues" and had no mention of restoration of Article 370 to its original form and withdrawal of APSPA.

Jammu: CPI(M) on Wednesday alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra's address to the Assembly was "clueless on vital issues" and had no mention of restoration of Article 370 to its original form and withdrawal of APSPA.

"The Governor's address was clueless about vital issues. It was merely repetition of the alliance agenda and having no mention of restoration of Article 370 to its original form, no categorical commitment for the withdrawal of Disturbed Areas Act and APSPA.

"Other important issues have also not been reflected," the CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA of Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami told reporters here today.

Tarigami regretted that there was also no mention of fixed timeframe for the rehabilitation of flood victims of the state and waiving off KCC loans of farmers and orchard owners who suffered huge losses due to devastating floods.

The CPI(M) leader regretted that the government remained silent about concrete measures to be taken to deal with the "alarming" unemployment problem and the payment of wages to thousands of contractual employees.
