Srinagar: Election Commission on Sunday directed the Peoples Democratic Party not to issue its poll manifesto tomorrow as the campaigning for the first phase of polls in Jammu and?Kashmir is over.

"We have been directed by EC not to release the poll manifesto tomorrow," a PDP spokesman told PTI.

He said the EC had told the party that it should have released the manifesto 48 hours before the start of polling for the first phase of elections on November 25.

"The manifesto will now be released after the first phase of polling is over," the spokesman said.

This is the second time in as many days that PDP has had to postpone the launch of its election manifesto. The opposition party did not assign any reason for putting off the release of the manifesto yesterday.
