J&K polls: There will be no Modi wave or BJP magic in Kashmir, says Congress

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Saif-ud-Din Soz on Friday said here that there would be no "Modi or BJP magic" in the state in the upcoming assembly elections.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Saif-ud-Din Soz on Friday said here that there would be no "Modi or BJP magic" in the state in the upcoming assembly elections.

Referring to the electoral victories, the leader alleged that the RSS was at the forefront of the strategy of the ruling party at the Centre.

"There will be no Modi or BJP magic in Kashmir. It is not actually BJP that is saying or doing these things, neither here nor in Delhi, it is RSS. RSS is at the front," JKPCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz said.

Soz said BJP would use any "ploy" to win votes in Jammu and Kashmir.

"But every one of their ploys in Kashmir will be unsuccessful," he said.

The Congress leader said no coalition government would be possible in the state without his party.

"We will get our share. And there will be no coalition government without Congress party. And perhaps, the situation is still such that we will be the largest party," he said.

Soz said Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi may visit the state to campaign for the party candidates.

"The top leaders will come. We are in the field. I am the representative of the party here and the whole party is united with me in Jammu, Ladakh and here. Probably, Sonia and Rahul will campaign here," he said.
