At least three pilgrims were killed and seven others were left injured following a landslide in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Jammu: At least four pilgrims were killed and seven others were left injured following a landslide in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. 

As per the report, the landslide took place near Ardhkumari temple in Katra leaving at least three people dead on the spot.

Many pilgrims received deep injuries in their head and were brought to Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super speciality Hospital for treatment.

"Our team went to the site as soon as the incident was reported to us," Ajit Kumar Sahu, CEO, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine said. Sahu further said that they always try to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.

It has been raining continuously in the Valley since last few days. The place where the incident took place is just 6 km away from the famous Vaishno Devi temple of Jammu. 

On Friday, two people, including a ten-year-old Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrim, were injured after boulders hit them in the temple area.
