Jammu: Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Tuesday demanded release of all political prisoners detained under the Public Safety Act by the state government tomorrow, the day when J&K's accession with the Union of India took place in 1947.

"October 27 is as important for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as August 15 is for the people of the whole country as the state became an integral part of India by virtue of the Accession agreement signed by Maharaja Hari Singh on this day in 1947, JKNPP Chairman Bhim Singh said in a statement here.

He said the state government should release all political prisoners rotting in jails under illegal detentions without trial on the day to demonstrate its respect for the occasion.
