Kashmir: 4 held with 29 kg cannabis

Udhampur: Four persons were today arrested and
29 kg of narcotics were recovered from them in Udhampur
district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a vehicle on
Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Jakhani area here and
seized 29 kg cannabis, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP),
Udhampur, Shakeel Bakshi said.

Four smugglers were arrested and hunt to nab the kingpin
has been launched, he said.

So far, police have seized 150 kg of cannabis this year
from various smugglers in Udhampur district, which is highest
recovery since 1992-93, he said.
