Jammu: An organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits on Monday said that Kashmir is a settled issue and a discussion should be held with Pakistan over vacating the areas "illegally" occupied by it.

"Kashmir is a settled issue and the only problem that needs to be discussed with the neighbouring country is the vacation of the territory which is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan," Panun Kashmir president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said here today.

The executive council of Panun Kashmir held a meeting today to discuss the current political and security scenario.

The council also described as "just and principled" stand of the US on the issue of Kashmir, and further observed that the "so-called issue" has long ceased to be of any significance to the international community.

"The world understands the bogey of Pakistan and is no more interested in its pranks," Chrungoo said.

The biggest issue bedevilling the relations between the two countries is the continuous sponsorship of terror from Pakistan and the recent LoC firing is aimed at facilitating the incursion of terrorists into India, he said.
