Jammu: Kashmira Vahini, the women wing of
Panun Kashmir, has demanded Governor NN Vhora take steps to
facilitate pilgrimage to Shardapeeth shrine in Muzzafarabad in
Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
"The delegation of organisation requested the Governor
NN Vhora to arrange and facilitate visits of the Hindu
devotees to this most ancient and sacred place of worship
(Shardapeeth shrine)," its national spokesperson Khema Kaul
told reporters here on Thursday.
Kaul, who along with a delegation met the Governor in
Srinagar, said their other demands included protecting the
ancient and original Sharda script of the Kashmiri language,
and saving the dilapidating the Sharda temple.
The delegation also demanded immediate passage of Hindu
Temples and Shrines (Protection and Preservation) Bill in the
Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
