Srinagar: A jacket fitted with an electric heating system, designed by a Kashmiri engineer to keep bikers warm during their ride in cold weather, was today showcased here.

Anjum Khurshid, a 25-year-old engineer from National Institute of Technology, Srinagar designed the jacket 'Jethot' which has an electric heating system that would be attached to the battery of the vehicle through a port which powers the system.

"Jethot is a new-age jacket which will change the entire concept of bike riding and driving in areas where winters are harsh," Anjum said.

It took one year for the engineer to complete the low-cost jacket, whose power consumption ranges from 20-30 watts and has a natural temperature regulation system.
