KPCC pledges Rs 5 lakh for relief in Jammu and Kashmir​

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Wednesday pledged Rs five lakh as its contribution for relief in flood-hit areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Wednesday pledged Rs five lakh as its contribution for relief in flood-hit areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

The contribution would be made to the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister's relief fund, KPCC president VM Sudheeran told reporters here today.

State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, who is in Delhi to coordinate efforts to bring back Malayali tourists caught unaware by the floods in Kashmir, said all the people from the state are safe.

As many as 91 of them had been brought to Delhi and the others are expected to be brought to the national capital by tomorrow, he told reporters in Delhi.

He said the state government's information was that a total of 396 Keralites got stranded in Jammu and Kashmir.
