Mercury dips further in JK, Valley normal temperature

The mercury further dipped in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir even as the rest of the state had almost normal temperature today, Met office said.

Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir even as the rest of the
state had almost normal temperature today, Met office said.

The minimum temperature in Leh dipped to minus 11.6
degree celsius from yesterday`s 11.4 degrees while in Kargil
it was minus 9.2 degrees, a fall from minus five degrees.

Pahalgam hill resort in south Kashmir was the only place
in the valley which witnessed a relatively cold night with a
low of minus 2.3 degrees. Its sister resort of Gulmarg in
north Kashmir recorded a low of one degree.

The night temperature in the rest of the valley ranged
between minus 0.6 degrees in Qazigund to 2.1 degrees in
Kokernag.

The day temperature in Srinagar was 12.4 degrees --
one degree below normal.

In Jammu, the winter capital of the state, the high was
recorded at 24.4 degrees and the low at 9.2 degrees.
