Jammu: Security forces on Sunday busted a militant hideout in Sinthan area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition.
The hideout was found in Sinthan region of Pir Panjal Ranges in the mountainous district of Kishtwar by a joint team of Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, a defence spokesman said.
He said that acting on the tip-off from the sources about the likelihood of a hideout, troops of Delta Force located at Bhandarkut and Kishtwar Police launched a massive search operation on July 24 in the forests of Sinthan.
The recovery include one AK-74 along with one magazine and 313 rounds, one UBGL, two .303 rifles, two .12 Bore rifles, two radio sets, two rockets, two mortar bombs, 38 rounds of SLR Rifle and 14 rounds of Sniper Rifle.
The cache of arms and ammunition might have been dumped by militants inside the cave-type hideout to be used at opportune time, he said.
