Security forces on Monday busted a militant hideout and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the dense forests of Abbalkot village of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu: Security forces on Monday busted a militant hideout and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the dense forests of Abbalkot village of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir.

"A joint team of Dharmund-based Delta Force and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched search operation on a tip off. The forces busted a militant hideout in the forests of the district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition," a defence spokesman said.

During the search operation, one AK 47 assault rifle with three magazines, one 303 rifle, one 12 bore rifle, one pistol with magazine, 119 rounds of AK 47, two Chinese hand grenades, four UBGL grenades, two RPG boosters, a Samsung Binocular, one radio set, one Kchibo transistor and 20 batteries of 1.5 volts were recovered, the spokesman said.

"Recovery of this huge cache shall result in defeating the nefarious designs of the militants in the Chenab valley. The relentless efforts of the security forces prove their commitment towards maintaining peace in the region," the spokesman said.
