Srinagar: Security forces on Monday busted a militant hideout in Baramulla district in north Kashmir and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, a defence spokesman said.
The hideout was smashed during a joint operation by Army and police in Bodhnar area and the seizure included an AK assault rifle, two magazines, 58 rounds and 18 UBGL grenades, the spokesman said.
He said the operation was carried out following receipt of an intelligence input about the existence of a hideout in the area.
"Despite bad weather, concerted search of the area was carried out during which a hideout was busted," the spokesman said.
The search of the hideout led to the recovery of administrative stores containing snow blankets, hand gloves, lighters and tarpaulin.
