Srinagar: An unidentified militant was killed on Friday in an encounter with security forces near Line of Control in Baramulla district of Kashmir, a defence spokesman said.
A gunfight broke out between troops of 18 Dogra of the army and the militant at Babagail in Uri sector, 100 kms from here, after the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, the spokesman said.
He said an unidentified militant was killed in the exchange of firing.
One AK rifle, three magazines and some Indian currency were recovered from the possession of the slain militant, he said.
