Srinagar: A moderate intensity earthquake
rocked the Kashmir valley early this morning but there were no
reports of any damage caused due to the tremor, a top official
said here.
"An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale occurred
at 5.19 AM this morning," Coordinator Natural Disaster
Management Cell Aamir Ali said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was Hindukush region in
Afghanistan, he said.
So far, there are no reports of any damage caused by the
tremor, he added.
This was the second tremor experienced in the Kashmir
Valley in last two days. A 5.2 magnitude tremor was recorded
on Thursday morning around same time.
