 Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Thursday expressed deep shock and anguish over the death of seven persons in a road accident near Ramban.

The vehicle, which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge.

Expressing sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in the accident, Mufti extended his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

He also wished speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.

Expressing serious concern over frequent traffic accidents, the Chief Minister issued directions to the Traffic Police Department to closely monitor the movement of vehicles and check over-speeding and overloading so that lives of people are safeguarded.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee J&K President G A Mir has expressed deep shock over the tragic accident took place at Shaitani Nallah (National Highway) in which five person lost their lives.

While terming this incident very unfortunate and shocking, Mir expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and offered his heartfelt condolences to them.
