Jammu: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday accused the ruling National Conference-Congress coalition in Jammu and Kashmir of "fuelling trouble" in the valley by "pandering" to the separatist sentiments.
BJP`s national vice president Vinay Katiyar told newspersons in Jammu that the BJP wants the central government to show "zero tolerance toward the violent elements" and deal firmly with the anti-national forces in the Kashmir Valley.
"Anti-national forces should be curbed with an iron fist," Katiyar said and asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to "show some strength in fighting these elements who have taken the whole Valley hostage".
Katiyar said that both the central and state government had so far shown "no sign of fighting these elements".
He also ridiculed the idea of a political package for Kashmir.
"What sort of political package will work in a lawless situation," he asked.
"The only issue," according to him, was "vacation of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir from the occupation of Pakistan".
"There is no other issue as far as Kashmir is concerned," he said.
