Srinagar: Senior National Conference leader
and Lok Sabha MP Sharifuddin Shariq today said granting
autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir would not only negate the wrongs
done in the past but also would pave way for restoration of
peace in south Asia.
"In our view, correcting past mistakes could satisfy the
people of Jammu and Kashmir with regard to restoration of
autonomy. It will also restore peace in entire South Asia,"
Shariq said addressing party workers at Qaziabad-Naugam in
Sopore, 55 kms from here in Baramulla district.
He appealed to the leadership of India and Pakistan to
work towards the resolution of Kashmir issue in its realistic
perspective and wishes and aspirations of the people.
Shariq also suggested them not to get engaged in war of
statements but work to solve the problems of people.
