Srinagar: Stirring yet another controversy for senior National Conference (NC) leader Nasir Aslam Wani, pictures of his son brandishing an AK-47 gun in the valley have reportedly gone viral, as per news report on Monday.

The pictures show his son standing and posing with the gun next to armed personnel.

However, NC was quick to defend Wani's son and said that the pictures have been blown out of proportion.

“Do not exaggerate things. He is just posing with the gun, not harming anyone,” said party leader Surinder Singh while speaking to an English news channel.

Wani, a close aide of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, was recently in the midst of controversy himself after pictures of him kicking a party worker surfaced.

The incident took place in Abdullah's home constituency Ganderbal.

Wani later denied the incident and said that the video footage was doctored.
