Nine foreigners, six Indians airlifted to Leh

Nine foreigners and six Indians were today airlifted by the Army Aviation Corps from Rumptsa area, nearly a week after they were stranded due to the flash floods that devastated this region.

today airlifted by the Army Aviation Corps from Rumptsa area,
nearly a week after they were stranded due to the flash floods
that devastated this region.

Army sources said the team of stran ded tourists were
airlifted to Upshki and were take to Leh by road from there.

The flash floods triggered by a cloudburst on the
intervening night of August 5-6 has claimed 166 lives, injured
hundreds others and left several people homeless.
