Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that there will be no resurgence of Ikhwani forces or counter-insurgents during his rule in the state.

"As long as I am here, there will be no resurgence of Ikhwani forces," Omar re-tweeted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Omar was replying to a tweet on his page by a Kashmiri `follower` saying "CM tweeted few days back about Ikhwani resurgence. Let Government re-assure the common Kashmiri on this issue".

Omar further wrote: "I`m sure it will come up in the assembly, I`ll deal with it then. That`s the best place to set the record straight."

"But what are you worried about. In the last election every single Ikhwan candidate lost the election. Have faith in the voter," Omar re-tweeted another Kashmiri youth on his apprehensions.

"No, the state government is not supporting anything of the sort," he asserted.
