No untoward incident in Sopore: Police

The situation in curfew-bound Sopore town of north Kashmir was "peaceful" on Sunday and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the town, police said.



Srinagar: The situation in curfew-bound Sopore town of north Kashmir was "peaceful" on Sunday and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the town, police said.

The town yesterday witnessed clashes between agitated youth and law enforcing agencies at several places despite curfew.

Curfew was imposed in Sopore after two persons Shakeel Ahmad Gnai and Firdous Ahmad Kakroo were allegedly killed in the CRPF firing in town on Friday.
Meanwhile, youths clashed with security forces in Baramulla town forcing closure of shops and suspension of vehicular traffic, officials said.
