Srinagar: Lashing out at Jammu and Kashmir
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, separatist leader Syed Ali Shah
Gilani Saturday alleged he was not concerned about protests of the people over violation of human rights and was interested only in saving his throne.

"He (the CM) is concerned only to protect his throne.
He wants no voices to be raised against atrocities in the
valley," the chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat
Conference said.

"People`s protests will endanger his throne," Geelani,
set free this afternoon after he was taken into police custody
yesterday, said at the residence of Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh who
was killed in stone-pelting.

The comments of the Hurriyat hawk came a day after
Omar questioned what he said the silence of separatists over
the killing of Sheikh, a government employee.

"These people (Omar and others) are least concerned
about the killings, they are interested to see their power is
safe," Geelani said.

Expressing concern over what he termed incidents of
violation of human rights in the valley, he said Sheikh`s
death was still a mystery.

"We cannot say with authority how Sheikh was killed.
We are investigating. After ascertaining facts, we will unveil
the truth," Geelani said.
