Srinagar: One soldier was killed and another injured when guerrillas fired at an Army convoy in Jammu and Kashmir Saturday, police said.
The attack, in the southern town of Pampore, took place when a "road opening party" of Rashtriya Rifles was at work.
The area was immediately cordoned off, and security forces launched a hunt for the assailants, a police official told a news agency.
Soldiers sweep through roads to secure them ahead of army and VIP movement in the Kashmir Valley.
