Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra on Monday said agitation and confrontation cannot resolve
outstanding issues and people of the state should participate
in the ongoing dialogue process initiated by the Centre.
"People of all shades of opinion in Jammu and Kashmir
should seize this historic opportunity of participating
meaningfully in the ongoing dialogue for resolving all
outstanding differences," Vohra said while addressing the
joint session of both Houses of the state Legislature here
He said that agitation and confrontation cannot resolve
issues and dialogue has been, and will always remain, the best
means for seeking a solution to any contentious issue.
"Appointment of a team of interlocutors and the
establishment of task forces for the Jammu and Ladakh regions
has been welcomed," Vohra added.
About the rehabilitation policy for persons who had
crossed over to PoK at the onset of terrorism and now wish to
return home, Vohra said, "Government will help such persons in
leading peaceful lives, rejoining national mainstream and
contributing towards peace".
