Over 3.90 lakh pilgrims visit Vaishnodevi Shrine in January

With nearly 12,000 pilgrims visiting the cave Shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi every day, over 3.90 lakh pilgrims have visited the Shrine during first month of the year.

Jammu: With nearly 12,000 pilgrims
visiting the cave Shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi every day, over
3.90 lakh pilgrims have visited the Shrine during first month
of the year.

"About 10,000 to 12,000 pilgrims from different parts
of the country are daily arriving at the Katra town, base camp
of the Shrine, for their onward journey," Additional Chief
Executive (ACEO), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB)
Dr Mandeep K Bandari said today.

As many as 3,90,657 devotees have paid their obeisance
at the holy cave Shrine in the first month of January this
year, whereas in the corresponding period of last year
3,73,138 pilgrims had offered prayers at the Shrine, he said.
