Over 4,000 doctors being recruited in J&K

To improve health care, Jammu and Kashmir government today said over 4,000 doctors and para-medics are being recruited to cater the needs of various hospitals in the state.

Srinagar: To improve health care, Jammu
and Kashmir government today said over 4,000 doctors and
para-medics are being recruited to cater the needs of various
hospitals in the state.

"About 4,300 doctors and para-medics are being recruited
through various agencies to cater the needs of various
hospitals," Minister for Medical Education R S Chib said after
laying foundation stone of girls hostel and students
recreation centre at Government Medical College here.

Chib said there is no doubt that our hospitals are
crowded with patients and there is deficiency of staff but the
government has taken a major step forward for creation of
infrastructure, procurement of necessary equipment and
recruitment of staff.

He said various complexes are ready for commissioning,
both at Srinagar and Jammu.

"The government will leave no stone unturned in
mitigating the grievance of people and health sector has been
prioritised," he said.
