Zee Media Bureau/Ritesh K Srivastava Jammu: Despite concerns expressed by the Narendra Modi government over repeated ceasefire violations by the neighbouring Pakistan, its troops once again resorted to unprovoked firing Thursday night, targeting two Border Security Force (BSF) posts in the RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Initial reports on Friday said that Pakistan Rangers fired mortar shells at around midnight targeting two BSF posts along the International Border. One civilian is believed to hav sustained some injuries due to heavy shelling from the other side of the border. The Indian side also retaliated to the unprovoked firing from the Pakistan Rangers. No casualties were reported. Firing has also stopped as of now. This is believed to be the 14 ceasefire violation by the Pakistan troops in nearly two weeks. In view of repeated ceasefire violations by the Pakistan troops, the Centre recently called off the Indo-Pakistan Foreign Secretary level talks scheduled to be held on August 25, evoking sharp reactions from Islamabad, the United States and the Kashmiri separatist leaders. Union Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and Indian Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag recently warned that a tough response will be given to Pakistan if it continues to violate ceasefire along the International Border.
