Police officer suspended for dereliction of duty in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday suspended an officer for dereliction of duty in Kathua district of the state.

SHO of Billawar Police Station in Kathua district,
Inspector Rakesh Bhakesh Bamba, who was attached to police
lines last month, has been suspended for dereliction of duty
while handling a murder case, Senior Superintendent of Police
(SSP), Kathua, Gareeb Dass told reporters.
Two other policemen - Havaldar Jasbir Singh and Constable
Kamal Ahmed, have also been shifted and attached with District
Police Lines (DPL), he said.
The three policemen were found involved in release of the
accused in the murder and defacement of a woman in the area on
July 19, the SSP said.
