Students of Police Public School here on Monday held protests outside its premises following allegations that a teacher there had tried to molest a female student.

Angry students disrupted classes after a girl student
alleged that a teacher had tried to molest her inside a
classroom at the school located at Bemina area in the city,
sources said.

The students pelted stones at the school building and
gave up their protest after the police assured them that
action would be taken against the accused, the sources said.

Meanwhile, an official spokesman said police has taken
cognisance of the alleged incident of "misbehaviour" in the
school.

"The matter is being thoroughly probed and strong action
will be taken against the accused, if proved guilty," he said.
