Srinagar: Two persons, including a newly
elected Sarpanch, were arrested today for allegedly attempting to molest a girl in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Sarpanch of village Bimyar, and
Khursheed Ahmad were arrested for attempting to molest a girl
in Uri area in the district, police said.
The victims' father, in his complaint, alleged that his
daughter was intercepted by Khan, Khurshid Ahmad Khan, Parveez
Ahmed Khan, Sajid Ahmed Khan and Hassena Akhter while she was
on her way to school.
She was beaten up by them and an attempt was made to
molest her, police said, adding efforts were on to arrest the
other culprits.
