Jammu: Terming Jammu and Kashmir as the
epicentre of corruption, Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) and
National Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Friday backed yoga guru Baba
Ramdev`s hunger strike against corruption and black money.
"We fully support yoga guru in his satyagarha against
corruption and black money. We want total weeding out of
corruption not only from the country but also from Jammu and
Kashmir," SDP Chairman Darashka Andrabi told reporters here.
"Jammu and Kashmir is the second most corrupt state in
the country. People of the state are fed up with corruption.
Jammu and Kashmir is its (corruption`s) epicentre," she said.
Andrabi said in order to support Ramdev`s movement "from
Kashmir to Kanykumari", the party will send a batch of 200
youths from the state to take part in the campaign in Delhi.
She alleged that a major cause of militancy in Jammu and
Kashmir is that funds released by the Central government are
not used for legitimate purposes and are bungled.
Backing Ramdev`s campaign against corruption, JKNPP
Chairman Bhim Singh said, "Congress is the mother of
corruption and has destroyed the country during its successive
decades-long rule... I fully support Baba. I want end of
corruption and corrupt people including in Jammu and Kashmir,
which is one of the most corrupt places in the country."
