Security arrangements reviewed in Jammu

Jammu: Security arrangements, including
that of civil secretariat and other offices in connection with
bi-annual darbar move on November 8, were today reviewed at a
high-level meeting here.

The meeting, chaired by Inspector General of Police
(IGP) of Jammu Zone Ashok Gupta, reviewed and discussed all
necessary arrangements for maintaining law and order during
the bi-annual darbar move, a police spokesman said.

Gupta asked the police officers to remain alert and
extra vigilant, and ensure law and order at all costs.

The IGP advised the police personnel to ensure humane
approach while dealing with the public. He, however, cautioned
them to remain stern while dealing with criminals and anti-
social elements.

Gupta stressed that frequent search operations should
be launched in the vulnerable areas and hard work to ensure
that all counter infiltration measures are in place especially
along the international border.

Among those who attended the meeting were DIG (Armed),
DIG (IRP), SSP (Security), SSP (Jammu).
