Srinagar: During the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pampore earlier this week, security forces rescued nearly 100 people from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) complex.
And one of them was Syed Mueen, son of Hizbul Mujahideen terror group chief Syed Salahuddin.
Terrorists had attacked the government complex in Pampore, 16 kilometres from Srinagar, and the ensuing encounter went on for three days.
During the operation, six people apart from the three terrorists were killed, including a civilian, three Army soldiers, and two paramilitary troopers.
As per a report in NDTV, Salahuddin's son works as an IT manager in EDI office and he too got trapped as terrorists launched the attack on Saturday.
As the encounter went on, security forces evacuated people from three buildings, floor by floor. And one among them was Mueen.
According to police, Mueen does not have any links with any terror group, but he was also reportedly questioned following the attack.
The encounter ended on Monday bringing to an end one of the deadliest terror attacks near Srinagar in several years.
The terrorists were suspected to be from the Lashkar-e-Toiba terror group.
Syed Salahuddin, 70, is currently based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and has masterminded several attacks in the state of J&K.
He has three sons, including Mueen. His other two sons are a doctor and a medical assistant.
