Jammu: Acting on intelligence inputs
regarding threats by militants, the Jammu and Kashmir police
has beefed up security to ensure that the Republic Day
function passed off peacefully.
Deployment of forces have been worked for ensuring
incident free Republic Day in Jammu and Kashmir, Director
General of Police Kuldeep Khoda said on Sunday.
Police has been put on alert, checking of vehicles and
frisking of people have been intensified and several check
points have been set up, he said.
"Police has been asked to alert and vigilant. Elaborate
security measure are put in place", IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh
told reporters here.
