Srinagar: Separatists threatening to launch an agitation after Eid are not concerned about the plight of the common man in Kashmir who will suffer if disturbances hit the Valley, Union Minister for Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said.

"There are people who threaten us by saying they will begin an agitation. I will have my food but what about these boatmen, what about the taxi drivers, what will happen to them. Do not they (separatists) think about them," Abdullah said addressing a function here.

Hardline Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani had last week threatened to launch an agitation in the Kashmir Valley if all political prisoners and the arrested protesters were not released by the government before the festival of Eid on September 1.

"They want to launch an agitation, they want to burn Kashmir. When Kashmir will burn, they will also burn," Abdullah, who heads the ruling National Conference party, said.
