Jammu: The Sikh community has full faith in
the administration in Kashmir although some people have tried
to tarnish the secular fabric of the Valley, Acting Chairman
of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Sardar Arvinder Singh
Miky said today.

"The members of the Sikh community are living in harmony
with the majority community of Muslims and security forces and
police are providing full security," Miky told reporters here.

Coinciding with US President Barack Obama`s India visit
at least two incidents of uniformed gunmen descending on Sikh
hamlets in the valley were reported, he said, adding, these
incidents disturbed the community, who feared a repeat of the
March 2000 massacre of 35 community members at Chattisinghpora
village when then US President Bill Clinton visited India.

Miky visited the villages of Hatmura, Anantnag, Uplana,
Baramulla and Tral that witnessed these incidents and met
General Officer Commanding of 15 corps Lieutenant General M C
Marwah and apprised him about the security concerns of the
Sikh community.

"General Marwah has assured us in this regard... a
report will be submitted before November 15 and the culprits,
whosoever involved, will be brought to book," he said.
