Srinagar: Close on the heels of death of a
government employee in stone-pelting here, a group of people
on Saturday threw stones at a city school, injuring one person.

Unidentified persons threw stones at the building of
Girls High School, Batmaloo, in central Srinagar in which the
peon of the school Rafiq Ahmad Kashkari sustained head
injuries, a police spokesman said.
He said Kashkari, a resident of Danderkhah area of
Batmaloo, was shifted to a hospital.

Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh (40), an employee of the Education
Department, was killed when a group of youths hurled stones
at a mini-bus in Batmaloo yesterday during a
separatist-sponsored march.

Sheikh, travelling from his Natipora house to Batmaloo,
was hit by a stone in the head and died at the S K Institute
of Medical Sciences, Soura.
On February 22, a 11-day-old baby had died after he fell
from his mother`s arms during an attack on a mini-bus by a
group of stone-pelting protesters in Baramulla district of
North Kashmir.
