Jammu: Security forces on Tuesday claimed to have
thwarted a militant plot to carry out terror strikes in Jammu
and Kashmir ahead of the Independence Day by recovering a huge
quantity of arms and ammunition, including RDX, from a hideout
in a village in Reasi district.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising personnel of
J-K Police, Rashtriya Rifle (RR) and CRPF launched a search
operation at Bal Angralla village, 140 kms from here, in
Mahore tehsil in the wee hours today, a police spokesman said.
The team came across a militant hideout from where a huge
cache of arms and ammunition, including 20 kg RDX, was seized.
The recoveries included 34 dura cell, 154 A K rounds, 19
pika rounds, one pika belt, 15 Chinese grenade, three H E
grenade, one Yessu set, one AK magazine, three Antenna
