Three militants arrested in separate incidents

Three ultras, including two militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen outfits, were on Thursday arrested in south Kashmir, police said.

Police assisted by troops of 36 Rashtriya Rifles arrested
Bashir Ahmad Wani alias Jaber Khan of Jaish outfit at
Kokernag, 79 kms from here, in Anantnag district, Deputy
Superintendent of Police, Kokernag, Aiyaz Ahmad said.

Wani, a close associate of slain commanders of the outfit
Qazi Baba and Rashid, was active since 1998, he said.

A resident of Nowgam-Madwa in Kishtwar district of Jammu
region, the militant was wanted in several cases, he said,
adding no arms or ammunition were recovered from him.

Another militant of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit Jehangir Ahmad
Malik was arrested by police assisted by troops of 44
Rashtriya Rifles at Kilora in Shopian district of south
Kashmir, 55 kms from here.

A pistol, two magazines and 12 rounds of ammunition were
recovered from him.

Another militant Ali Mohammad Malla was arrested from
Maldria area of Shopian, 51 kms from here, the police said.
