Trains services disrupted on Udhampur-Jammu-Pathankote route

Rail services remained partially disrupted for the third day today on Udhampur-Jammu-Pathankote due to ongoing repair work at Balole railway bridge which was damaged due to flash floods, with seven trains being cancelled.

Seven more trains have been cancelled on Udhampur-Jammu
-Pathankote rail track as a precautionary measure in view of
repair work on the basement of Balole Railway bridge in Bari
Brahamana area of Jammu, Railway officials said.

The work is going on war footing to repair and
strengthen the basement, which was badly damaged due to last
week`s flash floods in Jammu, they said.

These trains have been stopped at Amritsar, Pathankote
and Chaki Bank areas.

The trains have been cancelled to avoid pressure on
this bridge, they said adding only some of the trains will run
from Jammu and Udhampur and they will have a speed of nearly
20-kms per hour in the damaged stretch of the bridge.
