Chandigarh: The Indian Air Force aircraft
today transported relief material to the victims of
cloudburst-ravaged Leh, a defence spokesman said.

Despite inclement weather conditions, two IL-76 aircraft
took off from the airbase here with relief material, including
recovery vehicle (cranes), equipment for National Disaster
Relief team and BSNL. Two bulldozers have also reached Thoise,
the spokesman said.

Since the Leh tragedy, the IAF aircraft -- IL-76 and
AN-32 -- had made 30 sorties from here to Leh with 290 tonnes
of relief material.

Meanwhile, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education
and Research (PGIMER) has set up an operation theatre at Sonam
Marboo Memorial hospital in Leh, officials said.

The PGIMER had sent its equipment and doctors to Leh
after the operation theatre there was washed away in the
cloudburst last week.
