Srinagar: Two Amarnath pilgrims including a saint died on way to the 3,880-metre high holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas, taking the death toll in the ongoing pilgrimage to five, officials said.
With the latest deaths, the number of pilgrims who died since the start of the 44-day yatra on June 28 has gone up to five.
An unidentified `sadhu` died after being hit by a vehicle at Qazigund, 80 kms from here, on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the officials said.
They said the saint was on way to Baltal base camp.
Yesterday, while two pilgrims died near the cave shrine after being hit by shooting stones rolling down from a hillock, another pilgrim died of heart attack en route the cave shrine.
