The moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference today demanded resumption of the composite dialogue between India and Pakistan for finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue.

Srinagar: The moderate faction of the
Hurriyat Conference today demanded resumption of the composite
dialogue between India and Pakistan for finding a lasting
solution to the Kashmir issue.

"The people of Kashmir and Hurriyat will be happier if
India and Pakistan were able to take forward the cricket
diplomacy and resume the composite dialogue to find a
solution acceptable to both of them and address the wishes
and aspirations of the people of the state," Chairman of the
amalgam Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said.

Interacting with a 40-member delegation of Greater
Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, working under supervision of
the president of `All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen`
Asaduddin Owaisi, at his residence here, Mirwaiz reiterated
his demand for setting up of a `Kashmir committee` in the
parliament.

"We reiterate our suggestion for setting up of a
Kashmir group in the parliament which will keep an eye on the
situation in Kashmir and recommend measures for a solution to
Kashmir issue," the Hurriyat Chairman said.

He said New Delhi should exhibit sincerity and work
for making the atmosphere in the state conducive for
tripartite talks.

Farooq said, "If India still fails to demonstrate
sincerity, probably the future will be bleaker. It is,
therefore, our suggestion to India to implement the
suggestions put forth by Hurriyat for improving the ground
situation in the state to build an atmosphere conducive for
tripartite talks."

The delegation led by Deputy Major Jaffar Hussain are
