Undertrial dies of heart attack in Jammu

Jammu: A 69-year-old undertrial allegedly died of heart attack at a government hospital here, officials said on Tuesday.

Tara Chand, who was lodged in the district jail in Amphalla, complained of severe chest pain yesterday following which he was rushed to Government Medical College hospital for treatment, Jail Superintendent Harish Kotwal said.

He later died at the hospital, he said, adding, the body will be handed over to his family after all legal formalities are completed.

Chand, who hailed from RS Pura belt of Jammu, was serving prison term for murder.
