Villager washed away, 14 rescued from flash floods in Jammu

A villager was washed away in flash floods while 14 others were rescued from the gushing flood waters in Jammu and Reasi districts Wednesday.

flood waters in Jammu and Reasi districts Wednesday.

70-year-old Sher Singh was washed away in flash floods
in Baghu Nallah in Mahore tehsil, about 160 kms from here, in
Reasi district, police officials said. His body is yet to be
recovered.

In another incident, Army and police assisted by
locals rescued four persons, including two students, from
flash floods in Tawi river in Sidhra area of Jammu city, they
said.

Three other persons were rescued from flash floods in
Tawi river in Pir Kho area of the district last night, they
said, adding two persons were rescued from Belicharana
area from flash floods in Tawi.

Police also rescued four persons caught in flash
floods from Panjtirthi area along the Tawi river, they said.

One person was rescued from flash floods in Anj river
in Talwara belt of Reasi district, they said.
