Abdullah on Sunday attended a meeting of the Unified Command where he was briefed about the security scenario in the state.
Addressing the meeting here, Abdullah reitereated his
government's commitment to zero tolerance against human rights
violations.
"Violators of human rights will not go scot-free," he
told the meeting.
The Unified Command comprise top officers of the army,
para-military and police besides heads of intelligence
agencies of the Centre and the state.
The Chief Minister was briefed about the security
scenario in the state ahead of PM's two-day visit beginning
tomorrow, an official spokesman said.
The meeting also discussed matters pertaining to the
rehabilitation of youths who have crossed over to PoK but now
want to return to the state to start a normal life.
The spokesman said the Machil incident in which three
youths were killed allegedly in a fake encounter by the army
figured at the meeting.
The army assured their full cooperation to the police
in the investigations, he said.
Abdullah was also briefed about arrangements for the
Amarnath pilgrimage.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand also attended the
meeting.
