Srinagar: Schoolgirls and a woman separatist
group today took out rallies in the city here to observe
International Women's Day.
Dozens of school girls, in uniforms, marched on the
Boulevard road here to commemorate the women's day.
The girls were carrying placards in support of the
women's rights and denouncing crimes against the fairer sex
including dowry related cases, female feoticide and child
rights violations.
In a separate rally, six members of the all-woman Muslim
Khwateen Markaz led by Zamrooda Habib staged a sit-in at the
Residency Road here.
