Srinagar: A youth was killed in Army firing in north Kashmir`s Bandipora district, official sources said today.
Hilal Ahmad Dar, believed to be in his late 20s, was killed in Army firing last night at Ashtengoo Naar area of Bandipora district, 55 kms from here, the sources said.
They said Army had laid a trap in the area following information about movement of militants through the area.
The Army spokesman refused to comment on the incident saying "we are ascertaining the facts".
On Sunday night, a 25-year-old shepherd was injured in a similar Army operation at Malangam in Bandipora district.
